Christian Powertools

Posted: August 26, 2012 in Be Mindful

If you as a christian, only knew the power available to you as a follower of Christ, the darkside would be toast.  I have sought it out painstakingly, and even still yet, I have only seen the tip of the cornerstone.  We are able to cast out demons, heal the sick, communicate with the creator of the universe, share the gospel of Jesus Christ, do creative miracles, and even strike fear into the minds of lions. Yet most of us are unable to come to our full potential- it is extremely hard to live the righteous lifestyle that allows us to do such things.  We know that Satan hands out all kinds of power to his agents.. demonic power is easily acquired.. but it is not even close to being as potent as the power of God.  This is why I’m writing today about FASTING.  It is the best tool we have, whatever level you are on.

Fasting has many uses and is a good tool to discipline the body and loosen the bands that evil spirits have placed on us. (1 Corinthians 9:26-27) However, there is one area I want to focus on today.. getting the breakthrough in prayer. When the Bible says to Humble yourself and Pray, it is basically saying to Fast and Pray.  Pride blocks our communication with God at times.. it is one of the most dangerous of sins, and is the very sin that was responsible for Lucifer/Satan being kicked out of the 3rd heaven.  So God has given us this tool of fasting, which Jesus himself did for 40 days after he was Baptized.  You do not want to pray for God to humble you… because you’ll find yourself in the most humiliating situation, and wonder “Why is this happening to me?!”.  Fasting for any amount of time is good, but 40 days without food is the goal you want to shoot for when seeking a big breakthrough.  You can even speed up the process by going without sleep as well.  No Food nor Sleep is what we call the “Ruth Fast”…  A diet of only fruit and vegetables is what we call a “Daniel Fast”.  No food, you could call a “Moses Fast” if you’d like… but most the time people like Moses, and Jesus didn’t even have water either.  However, I don’t recommend refusing your body water, unless you’re as close to God as they were.

Fasting is also used by the darkside, and probably more often than christians do.  Fasting opens you up to the spirit realm, and this is why Prayer is extremely important during fasting.  If you don’t want evil spirits, then you’d best remember to pray.  …and as far as the breakthrough you’re seeking, don’t forget to “Pray Through”.  Just a few decades ago, churches wouldn’t close for hours after service, because people were still at the altar sobing, and pouring their heart out to God, to Pray through the 2nd heaven, to the throne room of God.  There’s alot of evil spirits in the 2nd heaven that would like to hinder your prayers, so the more muscle you can put behind them, the better.  Dump the pride, Pray by mouth (Proverbs 18:21), and seek after God’s ear as though it were $100,000 which you had lost earlier in the day.  That’s another reason why we don’t get the break through.  We seek the face of God as though we were looking for a nickel.  If ya don’t find it, no big deal…  I say all this, because there’s alot of power in the written and spoken word… and this is where I’m personally at on the last mile.  Seeking the face of God himself.  I’ve heard several testimonies of people who sought God, and they sought with all their heart (Jeremiah 29:13) and after they had strained and knocked, he came!  These were all men from different times, and different places.. and they sought with different methods.  One man sat up all night in an army barracks crying, “I won’t let you go, until you bless me”..  Another prayed for a few hours a night off and on for several months saying, “Lord, you said if I seek you, I will find you.. You said it Lord, please come!”  Another man fasted for roughly 35 days, and the Lord told him to keep fasting a few more days, that he had something special for him.  They all testified of the same blue-colored mist coming down, and they all fell on the ground terrified.  One of these men cried out to God, to stay back, because he thought he would die.  Another was curled up in a fetal position thinking, “God’s come to kill me!”  They were crushed under the weight of God’s glory, and delivered of many evil spirits all at once.  … And then the fear left as the evil spirits did, and they were filled with Joy, Peace, Love, and Righteousness.  This is what I want, and I hope you do too.  It is one thing to hear a still small voice, but to have such a relationship with God, that it’s an audible voice is what I seek.  It is a marvelous thing when God gets ahold of a man.. but even more marvelous and wonderful when a man gets ahold of God!  I would rather die than to go on living without the presence and power of God in my life!

Demons will definitely try to stop you from doing this.. but maybe if we all storm the gates together, by the mercy of God, some of us can break through.

Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof. – Proverbs 18:21

And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart. – Jeremiah 29:13

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways;  then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. – 2 Chronicles 7:14

I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air: But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway. 1 Corinthians 9:26-27

Dear Jesus

I got this in a letter from Brother Michael Boldea this morning..  It sounds about right.

Dear Jesus,
Sorry for not talking in so long a time, but Your love being compulsory, You’ll just have to understand. We the people of planet earth have gotten together and have agreed upon some things, which we thought fitting to pass along.
We think it only right we have a say, and even if You disagree, we demand it, and as such You have to do it.
First off, we believe there has been some sort of miscommunication, because a handful of your representatives still seem to think we are in need of forgiveness, and keep throwing around words like repentance, self-denial, and self-renunciation. We are not looking for forgiveness since forgiveness implies wrongdoing, what we are looking for from You is validation more than anything.
We don’t believe we’ve done anything wrong since sin is relative and subject to individual interpretation. As such, we no longer believe in the existence of sin, or consequence, justice, or hell for that matter.
Just tell us we’re okay and heaven-bound no matter what we do and no matter what we allow to nest in our hearts, and we can continue having as amicable a coexistence as we have enjoyed thus far.
Since certain things in Your Book were offensive to us, we decided to change the parts we didn’t like. At first we thought you might disapprove, but what You have to understand is that by changing a few things, and tweaking a few others, coming to church has become attractive to more people, and this translates into more revenue. In the end, isn’t revenue what it’s all about? Trust us, we know business, and keeping the Book the way it was, was cutting into the bottom line. Make people feel at ease, make them feel comfortable, do not challenge their lifestyle, and you’ll have faithful and loyal givers that will put you over the top with every offering.
When you really think about it, it was only a matter of time anyway. Can You really expect those of this generation to prefer You over their mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, sons, daughters, wives and husbands, when they don’t even prefer You over their possessions, positions, and proclivities?
Since you’ve likely seen what is happening on this planet, we were also wondering why you were late in returning. What’s keeping you? By our estimation You should have been here by now, and we should all be in heaven feasting and attending a wedding…at least that’s what our guest speaker said last Sunday.
Need we remind you this isn’t what we signed up for? The Apostles of old, and those of the primary church might have been foolish enough to sign on the dotted line, but we read the fine print, and made our own amendments before signing. We hope you honor those amendments, even though we didn’t run them by you.
So just to set the record straight, our amendments include but are not limited to, no persecution, no hardship, and no tribulation. We’ve all agreed we don’t have what it takes to endure to the end, so please come sooner than you’d intended, just to make sure we’re not scarred – emotionally or otherwise – by what we’re starting to see taking shape all around us.
Although we do not intend any offense, we are firm concerning the aforementioned issues, and even most preachers, evangelists, and pastors agree with us on our points.
An Unrepentant Generation
